Southern Ontario Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative has expanded their head office, now located at 8 Clairmont St. in Thorold. Pictured from left: Marie Bowering, Office Administrator. The newly renovated, accessible headquarters will offer resources, a foot care program, Ojibwa language classes and talking circles. New Businesses Open in Downtown Thorold
GSCrentals.com inc. was founded in 1999 by George Cottage of Thorold - 50 Front Street South, Thorold. Through growth and acquisitions it became the largest apartment rental website in Canada with over 500,000 people per month using it to find apartments or houses for rent. One of the acquisitions was gottarent.com which became the flagship website. In May of 2009 gottarent.com was sold to the Metroland Media Group (owned by the Toronto Star) and the decision made to add additional staff and keep operating from it's Front Street location.
Cerebral Vortex Games, is located at 23 Front Street South, Thorold, and Keith Makse is the companay's president. The video game development studio appeals to the casual audience for older demographics. This company with 6 employees and 2 contractors, makes games that are fun, with intellectual merit and provides a contribution back to the player.
