A Yellow Flower Basket
The mother-daughter team of Teresa Aiello and daughters Diana D’Intino and JoAnne Maiorano are celebrating their 20th year in business in Downtown Thorold this year. Using a play on words on their last name “Aiello”, the name “A Yellow Flower Basket” was born.
They have been buying locally grown flowers since the business opened in October of 1988, and continue to support neighbouring growers. Their emphasis is always on fresh product and pleasing design. Since Niagara is in the centre of Ontario's flower growing industry, it makes it easier to acquire fresh, locally grown product daily.
“We're lucky to have suppliers delivering fresh product to our door twice daily including: Snapdragons, gerberas, roses, freesia, alstroemeria, callas & lilies, daisies and much more!”
A Yellow Flower Basket is located in the old Flour & Feed store in downtown Thorold at 50 Front St. N.
“We were charmed by the quaint feeling of this old building - complete with squeaky old hardwood floors and wonderful tall ceilings. Once you step inside, the shop’s charm is apparent.”
The business started with approximately 800 square feet, but has grown over the years, now filling 2000 square feet.
A Yellow Flower Basket is an eco-friendly business that has joined the green movement by recycling and composting all of their fresh green organic materials.
A Yellow Flower Basket is open for your daily and special occasion needs. They offer floral designs for any occasion, balloons, giftware, plants and gourmet/fruit baskets.Visit them today.
